Method 5: Equal Group Beads
What is it?
To emphasize that multiplication is a form of repeated addition, allow students to use beads on pipe cleaners as a manipulative to help solve equations. This makes a great center activity!


Materials:

Beads (1 color per fact family i.e. x1, x2, x3, x4, x5, x6, x7, x8, x9

Pipe cleaners

Plastic container
Why is it Effective?
This is a tactile and visual way for students to practice their multiplication facts.
